Les 4 Plus Belles Rues de Bordeaux

1. Rue Notre Dame

A street that perfectly encapsulates the energy of Bordeaux and the direction it has taken in the last decade. You will find beautiful, antique and second hand stores, independent boutiques, along with great restaurants and cafés. Just along the adjacent street of the Cathedral is is Place du Marché des Chartrons which is a perfect place for a drink and soaking up the atmosphere of Chartrons. Enjoy a modern bistrot style dish at Bistrot 111 or head to the wine bar / café Yarra to experience one of Bordeaux’ best courtyards.

2. Rue Camille Sauvageau

Camille Sauvageau is, in my opinion, the most beautiful street in the city. Much of the street is still paved with its original cobble stone and you will see picturesque greenery lining the limestone buildings. There are some new boutiques and restaurants but many of them have been there for decades.

3. Rue du Palais Gallien

The easiest (and most beautiful) way to make your way to the Roman ruins and there are many wonderful boutiques, cafés and restaurants along it. Head to Panshop for delicious pastries and coffee, Palais des Saveurs for homemade, classic French dishes and cakes or Di Bartolo’s for some of the best pizza in Bordeaux.

4. Rue Sainte Colombe / Rue de La Rousselle

Rue Sainte Colombe becomes Rue de La Rousselle and is one of the main veins of the Old Town. Look to the balconies on this street to see some of the true opulence of Bordeaux. Les Recoltants on this street is one of the coolest cafés / restaurants in Bordeaux offering fresh, seasonal dishes sourced from their farms and partners in a radius of 100km from Bordeaux.

About Nikesh
